The program is available to individuals of all ages, from children to adults. The coaching sessions are tailored to meet each participant’s unique needs, empowering them to advocate for themselves with confidence.

Coaching Steps to Self-Advocacy

Coaching sessions will help you build a plan for any specific real life issues you want to address, and provide guidance and support as you take steps to resolve these issues.

Effective Communication:

Learn how to express your needs and rights clearly, both in conversations and through writing. This includes using effective communication techniques such as tone, body language, and writing clear, assertive emails to ensure your message is understood and respected.

Problem-Solving:

Develop the ability to recognise challenges you may face and find practical solutions. You’ll also learn where to seek the support you need, whether it’s from advocacy groups, legal resources, or community services.

Taking Action:

Gain the skills to take action when your rights are not being respected. This includes learning how to lodge complaints, make reports, and seek help from relevant authorities or support services to ensure your rights are upheld.

Building Confidence:
This program helps you build the confidence to speak up for yourself and stand up for your rights. Through practical activities and support, you’ll learn how to express your needs clearly and assertively. As you take part in the program, you’ll feel more empowered to advocate for yourself in different situations, ensuring your voice is heard and respected.

Time commitment

Participants in the individual coaching sessions can expect a commitment of up to 10 coaching sessions, at your own pace.

While you will be expected to complete some tasks on your own, the goal is to help you prepare for these tasks and to support you along the way to achieving the outcome you want. By engaging in the process you will gain valuable tools to advocate for yourself more effectively.
